Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 TI OC Low Profile 4GB GDDR5 Review
This NVIDIA graphics card features the NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI OC Low Profile processor. The processor, also known as the GPU, is the most important component in any graphics card. PCGameBenchmark rates processors by how many of the top 1,000 PC games the chip can run. This PC graphics card has a chip that can run 755 of the top 1000 games - so we give it a 75% rating.
Games that this graphics card can run include Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG, GTA V, League of Legends and Overwatch.
For a full list of the games that this card will run and the chance to compare it to similar cards check our graphics card comparison - we have tracked 6 cards with a similar GPU and none of them are cheaper than this setup - no need to wait for a sale or Black Friday 2022 to get the best price on a card like this.
You get 4 GB of VRAM on this Gigabyte graphics card and the weight of the full set up is 1.54 lb.
In the graphics card department, NVIDIA has the low-end covered with their new GTX 1050 and the mid-range is occupied by the GTX 1060, but what about in between? Enter the GTX 1050 Ti. The Ti variant was announced alongside the 1050 and still offers gamers the opportunity to take advantage of gaming at 1080p but should allow for even stronger performance. A boost in CUDA cores, texture units, VRAM and clock speeds paves the way for more frames per second in the latest triple A titles.
Today we focus our attention on the GIGABYTE camp and what they have to offer in the GTX 1050 Ti OC. As the name suggests, this graphics card arrives with a factory overclock – featuring a small boost to the GPU clock speed. GTX 1050 Ti OC also benefits from a small footprint allowing it to squeeze into small builds and its dependence on PCI-slot power means this could be a great upgrade for many with an aging PC.
GTX 1050 TI OC Low Profile first premium feature on this card is the now-expected (on a fancy card, at least) RGB lighting, which on the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Gaming G1 translates to two LED-lit areas on the side of the card. One is a Gigabyte logo; the other lets you know the fans have stopped spinning. The lights can be configured to stay on all the time, flash, breathe, or cycle through various colors.
For your hard-earned cash, you also get a so-called "binned" graphics processor (GPU). What that means: Gigabyte samples all of the graphics chips at its disposal and sorts the ones that it verifies can reach a certain clock speed into a separate premium "bin." Gigabyte calls this procedure "Gauntlet Sorting," and while that's marketing-speak, it betters your chances of getting the most possible overclocking ability out of your card.
You also get a metal backplate, which until recently was a luxury item on high-end cards; with big, brawny cards, they act as stiffeners (due to the cards' length) and as supplemental heat sinks. Still, it carries cachet (remember, this is the side of the video card you actually
see in a windowed case), and we won't deny that it does look cool, so it's on the Gaming G1 as a way to help designate this as a premium product.
